Who is Rosie O Leary?
Well… she’s not just a name on the front of the building-she’s the heartbeat behind it all.
Rosie hails from the beautiful town of Kenmare in County Kerry, right at the very bottom of Ireland on the wild Atlantic way. She’s the family’s much loved and missed granny- strong, kind, and (unknowingly) the new queen of Friday and Saturday nights in towns near and far.
When you look around Rosie’s, you’ll meet the family: the sharp gent in the entrance? Her son Thomas Raymond, the boxer over the fireplace, Rosie’s son Jackie and those adorable twins dotted all around the place- the late Alice, and much-loved Rose and the man with the donkey and cart? That’s none other than the legendary uncle Robbie.
And that’s just the start. All around the building you’ll find dozens of heartfelt, meaningful photographs-snapshots of Rosie’s world, her family, and the people who built the legacy behind the name. Every corner has a story and if these walls could talk they might need to order a pint first.
The truth is Rosie has no idea her name is up in lights…. and we’re not entirely sure she’d approve of all the singing, dancing and dodgy attempts at Irish accents going on inside. But we’d like to think she’d raise a glass anyway .
Rosie didn’t build a bar, but she built a family- and now every laugh, every song every clink of a glass carries a bit of her spirit with it.
